Our Greeters are up to date on airport changes and restrictions, and they liaise with the airline to help make your travel experience as smooth and seamless as possible. They are familiar with what dining and shopping options are at the terminal and if a particular lounge is open and available. Air General Greeters offer disposable foot socks, individual sanitizer wipes and disposable tote bags to protect and store your carry-on items as you go through the TSA security process.

Meet Air General Greeter Janet Danker at Washington Dulles International Airport

Air General Passenger Concierge Greeter Dulles Airport

Janet Danker has been a Greeter representing the Air General Traveler Services at Washington Dulles International Airport since we began operations there five years ago. While many of our Greeters are former airline employees, Janet boasts a different background in hospitality; she offers support at the Dulles Airport USO lounge and prior to that worked in government and in schools. Rounding out her experience in customer service is her prior involvement in the restaurant business.

A Greeter is involved in more than the face-to-face contact with a client. From the time our Greeters confirm an event they begin checking flight schedules, contacting ground transportation drivers and liaising with airline colleagues at the Transportation Security Administration as necessary. This collaboration is what Janet loves – a challenge in dealing with many moving parts to ensure the passenger has a seamless experience in the airport, whether departing for their destination, arriving back home from a journey or connecting to another flight.

Janet enjoys her time at the airport – calling it a “mini-city” – and appreciates getting to know other airport colleagues. She believes now is a good time to travel, with multiple guidances in place to protect passengers. There are hand sanitizer stations throughout the airports, masks are mandatory and airlines are cleaning airplanes better than they ever have! Janet remains confident that travel is safe if passengers use common sense. “It’s good to get out,” she says. “Go on vacation, bring wipes and sanitizers, and enjoy!

Air General Greeters carry amenities to protect their passengers from COVID-19 – sanitizing wipes, foot socks in case passengers have to remove their shoes at the TSA checkpoint and disposable bags to protect briefcases, purses and pocket items that must be placed in the security bins prior to boarding.

Let Us Keep Your Items Safe While Going Through TSA Security

While air travel is still challenging at this time, there are things that can be done to make your journey easier. That’s where Air General Traveler Services can help. Our Greeters stay up to date on the latest airport changes and restrictions and they do everything to make your travel easier from knowing if there is a lounge open in your particular terminal, finding  available food options and having amenities on hand for you to use. These amenities include individual hand sanitizer wipes, disposable foot socks (so you don’t need to walk through security barefoot if you must remove your shoes) and reusable bags to protect your carry-on items as they go through the TSA process.

“Plastic trays at airport security have more respiratory viruses than public toilets” according to recently published research. Testing determined that security trays were found to pose the highest potential risk of viral contamination at airports. According to the study, as the trays are used by virtually all passengers, “they have the potential to be especially problematic if a severe pathogen with an indirect transmission mechanism were to pose a threat for international spread.”

Since we don’t know if the security trays are not routinely disinfected, our Greeters will supply you with complimentary disposable linen bags into which you can place your large purse or briefcase, or smaller bags into which you can empty your pocket items thus avoiding any of your belongings touching the tray surfaces. Simply dispose of the bag after completion of security formalities.

A French-flavored Vacation in New Orleans

France may have been on your radar for this year’s summer vacation, but due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions, that is not possible. Why not travel to New Orleans for a French flavored vacation? Air General Travel Services operates at Louis Armstrong International Airport and our Greeters are waiting to assist you through all airport formalities, making the journey through the airport as “touchless” as possible.  We can also help with bookings for cars, restaurants, and escort you to wherever you want to go. There are restrictions, but as long as you follow the rules you can enjoy all the New Orleans has to offer. Restaurants and cafes are open:

Café du Monde, 800 Decatur Street, the place to go for coffee and beignets, is open 24 hours.
Broussard’s, 819 Conti Street, French-Creole cuisine, for brunch or dinner.
Museums, and other indoor attractions are open, with limited capacity and staggered reservations.
The Presbytere, 751 Chartres Street, an architecturally important building in the French Quarter.

The New Orleans Jazz Museum, 400 Esplanade Avenue, dedicated to preserving and celebrating the history of jazz music.

Walking and bike tours are available, but limited to 14 people so reservations are highly recommended. Outdoor live music is permitted with the gathering limited to 50 people.

Jackson Square, facing the Mississippi River and surrounded by historical buildings, is a place to gather and enjoy the open-air artist colony.

Enjoy a visit to New Orleans and remember to follow all the safety guidelines, wear a mask, wash your hands frequently and maintain social distancing.
